Band, Outreach, Guitar Teacher

2002-2014

We loved Daniel Sorrell and he loved us—everyone he came in contact with.

He demonstrated his love for God in his daily life and in his love for his family, his students, his friends, and his colleagues.

Students remember him whistling in the hallways, making them laugh, and giving them nicknames.

They remember joy, enthusiasm, a hint of sarcasm, and his obvious love for Jesus. He was a man of God.

Colleagues remember him as fun, focused, humble, caring, godly, and committed. He was always interesting to talk to,

whether the topic was Western films, classical music, his Swedish heritage, opera, jazz or something else.

When he was leading a band, the size of the group wasn’t important. He just made it happen. He even invited teachers

and parents to be a part of the pep band at games, and called the elder group the “Navigeezers.”

Today, he is in the presence of his Lord, and perhaps hearing music like he’s never heard before.

Here on earth, he has left a legacy, and that legacy lives on.
